ARTIST STATEMENT
Born, raised, and based in New York City, I am a contemporary figurative artist and graduate of the School of Visual Arts, creating works exclusively in luminous white pastel on black surfaces. My work explores light, memory, and the enduring psychology of being seen.
Working with powdered white pastel applied directly with my fingers rather than traditional drawing tools, I maintain an intimate, tactile connection with every subject. This physical process allows each figure to emerge through touch, as light is drawn from darkness. Every mark is both an act of observation, inviting viewers to reflect on identity, vulnerability, and the emotional weight of visibility.
The male figure is a recurring muse throughout my work. As a woman and artist, I challenge traditional representations of masculinity by transforming the male figure from a symbol of power into an object of beauty and desire.
Whether creating original works or deeply personal commissions, my art preserves not only the human form, but the essence behind it—creating a lasting testament to individuality, sensuality, and the legacy one leaves behind.
